| Elaine became conscious of the potential for a more sustainable and life supporting world in her early adult life. She started her professional life as a social worker in a foster care agency. She worked at the community level on integrated housing and educational projects in Westport, CT in the early 70's. She has also taught English in a Japanese Junior High school and has travel abroad extensively. Elaine spent ten years associated with and working at a holistic and spiritual health Center in MA, which helped form her vision of a better world. She initiated and directed The Foundation for The Advancement of World Peace for ten years.
After a one-year stint as a research assistant
to Margaret Mead, she launched a
consulting agency for married women
with children returning to the workforce.
This enterprise led her to a 20 year
focus on career counseling,
life planning and energetic transformation.
Having been blessed with a family inheritance, Elaine viewed this as a responsibility and began an involvement in both philanthropic and socially conscious ventures.
While philanthropic contributions will always be a part of her life, Elaine's current focus is planetary transformation. Business with a transformative goal and a triple - ecological, economic and ethical - bottom line is one of the several vehicles she uses.
An appreciation of indigenous cultures brought
her to Australia in 1998. As a sponsor,
Elaine made possible a unique gathering
of indigenous elders from South America,
North America, New Zealand and Australia that was held on the Nullabor
plane. This trip launched Elaine on her current career and business
ventures. She recognized the special quality of Australia to house
and be receptive to new ideas and new systems. She joined forces
with Thomas Mack and Danielle Leonard in the creation of the ReGenesis
vision.
A company based on holistic and sustainable systems, ReGenesis Enterprises works with ecological design in all sectors of agricultural development, including market gardens, citrus and mixed fruit orchards, a soil and compost company, long term cabinet timbers, and rain-forest regeneration.
Elaine's interests have been broad, varied, and global. She has supported:
The Gathering, a documentary (based on
the above-mentioned indigenous event),
a project of The Heart Magic Foundation
(http://heartmagic.net).
The Marion Institute (http://marioninstitute.org/), a US based foundation exploring unique solutions to global challenges.
Young Heart Animation Pty (http://youngheartanimation.com), producer of Dream Babies, a values-based TV series.
The Whaleman Foundation (http://www.whaleman.org/), advocating the protection of whales.
Cetacean Studies Institute (http://www.linknet.com.au/dolphin/home.html), researching the connection between humans and whales.
Save The World Air Inc, (http://savetheworldair.com/) developing a revolutionary device which eliminates the emission of carbon monoxide and reduces automobile pollution.
, Threshold Foundation (http://www.thresholdfoundation.org/), a consensus-based membership non-profit foundation and pioneer in funding innovative social, political, spiritual and environmental projects around the world.
The Resolving Conflict Creatively Program (http://www.esrnational.org/about-rccp.htm), teaching conflict resolution in the US and abroad.
Elaine believes that transformation of inequitable and dysfunctional systems is possible, that the extreme polarities on the planet can be bridged and that every small step that moves humanity towards collaboration and harmony is powerful. Her work at ReGenesis is one of those steps.
